Camilla Belle Routh was born in Los Angeles, California to Cristina Routh, a fashion designer, and Jack Routh, the owner of a construction company. Belle's mother is from Santos, São Paulo, Brazil and she was named after a Brazilian actress's character in the soap opera Cavalo de Aço. Camilla was raised in a Catholic household, and attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School and then transferred to the Marlborough School, an elite all girls school in Los Angeles. She has dual US-Brazilian nationality.
